A better breakfast question

Rather than asking for one perfect PCOS breakfast, ask what will keep you comfortably full, fit your schedule, and be easy to repeat. For many people, combining protein, fibre-rich foods, and a carbohydrate source can be more satisfying than a meal built around tea and biscuits alone.

The best option depends on your appetite, culture, budget, cooking time, medication, and any health conditions. There is no need to force foods that do not suit you.

  • Besan chilla with vegetables and curd.
  • Idli or dosa with sambar and a protein-rich side where practical.
  • Vegetable poha or upma paired with curd, eggs, sprouts, or peanuts.
  • Egg bhurji with roti or toast and fruit.
  • Overnight oats with milk or curd, nuts, seeds, and fruit.

Make it work on busy days

Batch-prep ingredients instead of trying to pre-cook every meal. Soak chana, keep curd available, chop vegetables, boil eggs, or prepare a dry mix for chilla. A small amount of preparation often matters more than a complicated recipe.

If breakfast is hard to tolerate early in the morning, discuss timing and alternatives with a qualified professional rather than skipping meals through force.
